The teaching of creativity has become a recent academic discipline. Read this article, "Learning to Think Outside the Box," from The New York Times and examine why learning creativity is essential in today's world.
Radio host Julie Burstein wrote a book titled Spark: How Creativity Works which highlights some of the dimensions of creativity. Watch her TED Talk "4 lessons in creativity." Burstein outlines the "4 lessons" into these categories: experience, challenge, limitation, and loss. In the first lesson, she says that we must pay attention to the world around us.
