Let’s Begin…
Do you wake up early every day or do you stay up late every night? Waking up early would mean you are a morning person, staying up late into the night would make you a night owl. What effect might this trait have on your personality? Intelligence? Success rate?

As children my sister & I always slept in for school. We both became shift workers but getting up for an early shift was dangerous for my sister as her fear of sleeping through the alarm made her stay awake all night followed by an hour's drive to work on country roads dodging wild life. I fare better in that regard but if rostered 3 early shifts in a row it is virtually a given that I will sleep in for the 3rd one due to being a night owl and I feel I am less productive on an early shift. My ideal job would be all afternoon shift. You have the morning to get jobs done at home or come home late at night and do so. I am regularly found washing or studying into the we hours or doing the grocery shopping on the way home from work at night as I hate crowded supermarkets or making a special trip just to pick up groceries.

I described myself a night owl. This is a disadvantage because the cognitive abilities are modified or altered

I'll say being a night owl is a advantage because I am more awake in the morning and very creative.

No matter night owl or early bird have more time than normal people to do anything. But considering most modern social activities happened from 9am to 5 pm, early bird is putting an advantage

I’m a night owl and it helps me because I take risks and I love that.

Early bird is an advantage for me because I feel happy when I sleep enough at night. I guess I can think better in the day.
I guess it's disadvantage because in the day there are more interruptions. Sometimes I have to work late for finishing tasks.

I think It's an advantage for my physical and emotional status.
It's a disadvantage because some days I'm required all the day and I can't finish my tasks.

I've always been a night owl. As a child, I remember not being able to fall asleep at night. As a teen & young adult, my mind was too active to not be doing something productive. I always did my college work at night & pulled all lighters to complete big projects. I always thought part of the reason I was more productive at night was because there wasn't really anywhere to go or errands to run, no one calls you or stops by at 3am, everyone in the house was asleep so they weren't in my way. As a mom, it is the only time I have to myself. I have a few hours of peace & quiet to do what I need or want to do.
Being a night owl definitely has its disadvantages. If I'm going to wake up early, I should just skip sleep. I will get 2-3 hours of sleep at night until the 3rd or 4th night when it catches up with me. I've read an article of studies linking & comparing night owls (&/or their behaviors & characteristics) to ADHD.
