Most people prefer animals over plants because the animal can move and do things.

I think humans prefer animals over plants because they are more familiar with humans since we're also animals. The anatomy is similar, and the way we eat and sleep is the same. Plants, however, are completely different from animals, and they could make their own food. They are both considered alive, but humans tend to prefer things that are more familiar to them.
