Photographer James Balog shares new image sequences from the Extreme Ice Survey, a network of time-lapse cameras recording glaciers receding at an alarming rate, some of the most vivid evidence yet of climate change.
According to Balog, the retreat of most of the world’s glaciers is “bomb-proof information,” and yet “the great irony and tragedy of our time is that a lot of the general public thinks that science is still arguing about that.” Why do you think there’s such a disconnect between the scientific community and the general public?
