what are the other ways to help people suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa and Usher's syndrome?

Retina regeneration is one way. Other ways could be: 1) gene therapy (correct the disease-causing genes) 2) artificial retina (a sheet of light sensors which connect with optic nerves).
