Are we all related?

Lesson created by Lauren McAlpine using TED-Ed's lesson creatorVideo from Be Smart YouTube channel

Let’s Begin…

Basic math tells us that all humans share ancestors, but it’s amazing how recently those shared ancestors lived. Thanks to genetic data in the 21st century, scientists are discovering that we really are all descended from one mother. It’s Okay To Be Smart explores our common human ancestry.

Create and share a new lesson based on this one.

The DNA shuffle’s so much that only similar DNA is detected

We may have some of the same DNA, however since we have ancestors that have different genes, we get some of those too, making us less and less related

Our DNA shuffles over time.

We are all technically related but we are not brother/sister, strong DNA connections but some parts.

It would be all difrent DNA mostly because when the genes is passed to the next person it would be shuffled it would be diffrent.

because every time a gene is passed down to the next generation, it becomes a bit shuffled and that's why all our DNA is different and that's why DNA tests work.
