I think that the Jamestown settlement was really hard because of food shortages and diseases that had spread to their country, conflicts with the Native Americans, lack of resources and terrible weather.

I believe it would be hard as you would have to do everything yourself to survive. You had to make your own clothes, house and food. We know that the last one was particularly hard evident from the starving time from 1609-1610.

I think it was very hard because the things they had back then are way less developed than the things we have today. They had to put a lot more work in and they also had to be aware of attacks and other things which made life hard at Jamestown.

I think life at the Jamestown settlement was a harsh environment. At first, the settlers thought the site was ideal. Unfortunately in the summer, the site turned into a swamp filled with mosquitoes and poisonous water. In the winter, it was unprotected from the harsh winter storms and became bitterly cold.
