A little sun on the surface of the Earth?

With the ITER [http://www.iter.org] (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) project, full-scale electricity producing fusion power plants would be the best and cleanest solution to the energy crisis. What are the benefits and limitations to performing a fusion reaction?

For controlled thermonuclear fusion to work, you need to confine an extremely hot plasma (ionized gas). So how can we keep it if its to hot to place in a container, because the container will melt?

In the longer run it would be better in my option to us hydrogen instead of gasoline. but the car would most likely blow up.

I agree because we have some of the similar gases here on Earth that the sun or another star has. We get some of the same reactions here as the sun has so that would prove that we have some of the same gases.

Yes, I agree. The plasma used in fusion-energy research is hundreds of millions of degrees Fahrenheit. You can't hold it using a solid container, because the container would just melt

I agree. For controlled thermonuclear fusion to work, you need to confine an extremely hot plasma (ionized gas). It needs to be hot enough and dense enough for the fusion reactions to initiate and proceed.

I disagree, this only happens if the fusion is not handled properly and this is an overall clean source of energy
