Is the Higgs Boson responsible for the mass of things? If it's not, then what IS? I don't think you can actually classify Higgs as a hero or a villain, but it sounded really cool to me.

The quarks that make up protons DO interact with the Higgs Field, which gives them a small amount of mass --that adds up to about 1% of the total mass of the proton. Where is the other 99% of the mass coming from then?
