Argentine Tango 8 Step Basic with Instructions

Lesson created by Rusty Cline using

Video from Rusty Cline & Joanne Canalli - Tango YouTube Channel

Let’s Begin…

The 8 step basic in Argentine Tango is a great learning tool for the learner to get a grasp on how to mange their stepping position, energy and body positions. We use the basic by the numbers to save time by asking the student to do a 3 (outside partner) or a 4 (prep-step to the cruzada) in order to efficiently improve their dance in a swift and concrete manner.

Most questions in tango are answered in the moving.  Some are answered by closely observing those that dance well.  The hard part is deciding precisely, what question is longing to be asked.
