Explode a Moment wih Barry Lane

Lesson created by Melissa Schmitz using

Video from Barry Lane YouTube Channel

Let’s Begin…

Good writers explode key moments in their writing with slow motion detail. Get ready to make your personal narrative come alive with an exploded moment.
Additional Resources for you to Explore
Begin typing the exploded moment. Remember you are not starting with the beginning of the story. You are only writing about the few minutes that your exploded moment occurred. Try to type over 100 words.
Select a peer editor. Ask them to visualize what you are reading. Read your exploded moment out loud. After reading ask the peer to describe what they felt and pictured in their mind. After hearing their comments, what will you revise in your moment and why?
