Lesson created by Tobye Ertelt using

Video from United Nations YouTube Channel

Let’s Begin…

In Global Citizen Parts 1 and 2, we looked at what defines a global citizen and what skills we need to become a citizen. In this lesson, we are going to focus on acting. We want to start looking for areas of passion/interest that we want to connect with.

Create and share a new lesson based on this one.

After watching the video, think about things you can do to help. Begin with "The Lazy Person's Guide to Saving the World" from the UN. Make a list of what actions you could easily adapt as part of your everyday life.Below are a list of various organizations which focus on specific global causes. I'm including the UN's Sustainable Development Goals list to remind you of the various areas of global crisis. Browse through the causes, looking for one that speaks to you if none do, complete your own search for organizations. Click on the link, read more about it. Then decide how you could change things if you participated in the cause. Think about if it would be more effective to join an already established cause or to create your own cause.Clean Waterwater.org "Millions of people around the world could get access to safe water in their homes with the help of small, affordable loans."The Water Project Global Clean Water Initiative.
