A, E, I, O, and U...every word has to have a vowel! Sometimes vowels can say new sounds when they stand next to different letters. Today we're going to find out what happens when "A" stands next to "W" or "U" in a word.

Vowels are important, but can be changed to create many unique sounds. Next time you are reading or writing, be sure to notice any words with the "AW" and "AU" sound!
