This has been a quick example of what Ted-Ed is. 
As you can see we can have questions ranging from simple multiple choice, with a definite right or wrong answer up to open ended discussions. 
This entire lesson took me about 15 minutes to create. I could easily use this for quick pre-testing, post-testing, classroom discussion starters, online discussions linked to my favorite LMS, individual lessons, a center, and a million others ways in the classroom.
