Lutetium - Periodic Table of Videos
The team at periodicvideos has created a TED-Ed Lesson for every element of the periodic table. Lutetium is element number 71 and has the chemical symbol Lu. But did you know it was named after a very famous capital city?
As John Emsley wrote in his book, Nature’s Building Blocks, the name lutetium really derives from the latin word lutetia meaning “boatyard on the river”; the city of Lutetia was the ancestor of present-day Paris.
